Hi, I’m Sady
I’m a somatically-attuned story collector, death doula, and community ritualist. For nearly 20 years, I worked as an oral historian in New York City. The archival collections I built continue to be used by researchers, educators, artists, and writers.
Now, my oral history practice focuses on preserving personal and family stories during times of big change. I’ve built an approach that takes traditional oral history methods and weaves in modalities for healing, end-of-life preparedness, and embodied practices for grief. With nervous-system-loving care, I help us stay connected to ourselves and our communities in a culture built on disconnection and extraction.
My background is in psychology, women’s & gender studies, and oral history. As an INELDA-trained end-of-life doula, I am honored to be with people and their families as they navigate big questions of life and death.
I have been in study, practice, and supervision in generative somatics with Ream, B Stepp, Dara Silverman, and MawuLisa Thomas-Adeyemo since 2020.
I am a trained practitioner of Ancestral Medicine (Daniel Foor and Shannon Willis) and I also trained in Embodied Ancestral Inquiry (Marika Heinrichs and Stevie J. Guiol). Learn more about me here.
I live in rural Western Massachusetts / Wabanaki Land. I enjoy playing with my kiddo, watching women’s basketball with friends, and reading sapphic romance novels.
Let’s talk
I look forward to seeing how we might work together.
